PLEASE MEET OUR COUNCIL NOMINEES

Joseph Agrella

My name is Joseph “Joe” Agrella. I’m a graduate of University of Houston and a Texas CPA. I am a native to The Woodlands and a graduate of The Woodlands High School.

My professional expertise is in family office management, and I serves as Vice President – Head of Office for a prominent Houston family. I currently serves on the Board of Directors for The Woodlands Pride, The Woodlands Diversion, Drive Safe America, and Malama Waters. Also serving local foodbanks and a LGBT support group; Life Gets Better Together.

I resides in City Place with my daughter Axelia, dogs Buster and Beethoven, and cat Bruce. We have been members of Lord of Life Lutheran Church since 2018.

My personal interests include skiing, hiking, yoga, ballet, going to the zoo, art museums, and theatre. I also enjoys NASCAR, Mardi Gras, UH sports, cooking, baking, and horticulture.

Kerry Carpenter

My name is Kerry Carpenter. I arrived in The Woodlands in 1996, initially anticipating a short stay, yet here I am. God led me to Lord of Life in April of 2023, and since joining, I have been able to get to know the community through participating in the new member process, assisting with Health Ministry Blood Pressure Checks, sharing my Welcoming All story at the All Things New Breakfast, and connecting with fellow members at church events. I look forward to leading a Lunch and Learn on exploring the benefits of whole-food, plant-based eating on January 14th. When the opportunity to serve on the council arose, my first thought was “Oh no! I can’t do that, I’m way too awkward.” Then I remembered how God worked in my life to bring me the gift of this community, how wildly and faithfully God’s plans exceed my own, and that I’ve committed to walking through the doors God opens for me – so I said a prayer and a yes.

It’s not always obvious what to include in a bio, but what feels most relevant is the joy I find in striving to help others feel truly seen and loved. Two decades as a nurse and three years as a high school teacher have deepened my respect for the power of compassion united with action. The Lord of Life mission to “seek and welcome all to connect, celebrate, and serve in God’s love” is deeply meaningful to me. I hope to bring my creativity, empathy, and love of learning into this vibrant, caring community of servants in a way that helps amplify its message of living out Christ’s love in action. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and serve in whatever way God has planned.

Kirk Fields

Hi, I’m Kirk Fields.  My career as a petroleum engineer moved our family to The Woodlands in 2016.  That relocation brought us to Lord of Life Lutheran Church, where my wife, Lindsay, and our sons Zachary and Andrew, and I have been members for the past three years, experiencing the warmth and inclusivity of this community.  I previously served on the Children’s Faith Formation Committee for a year and look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve on the council.  I hope that my background in project management and organizational leadership will prove beneficial to the group.

I’m particularly drawn to the Outreach ministries, with a specific focus on family service projects. The opportunity to actively engage in projects that make a positive impact on the lives of others is something I enjoy participating in alongside my wife and sons. I believe in the strength of community bonds and collaborative efforts. I’m excited about the chance to serve alongside fellow church members, making a meaningful difference while strengthening the ties that bind us together.

Casey Page

The Pages (Casey, Sarah, Eleanor, and Marjorie) joined Lord of Life in 2015 and over the years have progressively become more involved at LOL.

Casey was born on Long Island, New York, but moved to The Woodlands in 1988. He attended Living Word Lutheran Church where his father served as an elder and congregation president.

Casey’s passion is serving the homeless, working with those recovering within the addiction community, as well as volunteering with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity.

His hope for the church’s future is that it can continue to be a place where people at any point in their walk in faith will feel equally comfortable and valued.

Kurt Roberts

Vicky and I met and married in Michigan, Meijer Thrifty Acres brought us together. We moved to Houston soon after college, 1993 to pursue careers. Houston was to be a stepping stone, a mere 5-year layover on our way to Denver or Seattle. Then life happened.  We found Pastor Chuck and his ministry in 1995 and have been active members of LOL ever since. We grew with and raised a family in the church.
Vicky teaches 4&5’s at Kids of the Kingdom. Connor (hook ‘em) now works in Phoenix. Brendan attends school in Golden, CO. And I get to design interesting buildings in TX and around the US.
Prior to 2020 I mentored and volunteered with LOL. Then I watched with you as the COVID-19 pandemic altered the way we travel, learn, live, and praise. I have worked from my home office since March 20, 2020. My engineering team is now talking about returning to the office. And in the last 3+ years I became comfortable with not attending LOL. I filled my non-working hours with mindless internet, it was my coping mechanism. But I lacked personal growth that I know I need. I find myself hungry and wanting to re-engage.  I would come to Church council with many perspectives, but mainly as a believer that Love/Jesus is the way.
