2025 Men’s Retreat: Pivoting – Embracing Change
Get ready for a weekend of fellowship, faith, and fun at the 2025 Lord of Life Lutheran Church Men’s Retreat! Hosted by Neal Stockham, this retreat is open to all men (21+) of LOL and their guests, and will be held from July 18-20 at the beautiful Riverside, TX (333 William Thomas Rd, Huntsville, TX 77320).
Theme: Pivoting: Healthy Acceptance of Change
This year’s theme focuses on navigating life’s transitions with grace and strength, fostering a deeper understanding of how to embrace change in our spiritual and personal lives.
Itinerary:
- Friday, July 18:
- Arrive anytime after 12:00 PM.
- Afternoon: Settling in and fellowship.
- Dinner followed by a poker tournament ($20 buy-in).
- Saturday, July 19:
- Breakfast: Bacon, sausage, eggs.
- 10:00 AM: Friendly skeet shooting competition (bring your own shotgun and ammo, extras available).
- Bible study before lunch.
- Afternoon: Lake activities (swimming, boating, lounging).
- Dinner: Burger night.
- Evening: Redemption poker ($20 buy-in).
- Sunday, July 20:
- Breakfast: Leftovers.
- Countryside service led by Pastor.
- Clean-up and departure.
What to Bring:
- Summer clothes, swimwear, water shoes.
- Shotgun and shells (optional).
- Bible.
- Snacks to share.
- BYOB.
- Water, insect repellent (OFF), sunscreen.
- $20 donation for food.
- $40 cash for two nights of poker.
- Camp chair, floats.
- Personal retreat items.
- Tent/camping gear (optional), air mattress, cot, etc.
Provided:
- All meals and bottled water.
- Plenty of fellowship.
Miscellaneous:
- The retreat is designed to be flexible; all activities are optional.
- Opportunities to volunteer with meal prep and clean-up are available.
- Come for the entire weekend, a day, or a few hours.
- Limited beds and couches are available (first-come, first-served).
- Plenty of floor space for air mattresses and tent camping.
- Electricity is available for tents and campers (extension cords needed).
- Space for boat/trailer parking.
- An extra bag or two of ice is always appreciated.
