Note From President Joe Cox

February 10, 2022

Dear Lord of Life,

I am writing to re-cap and summarize what I heard in our recent round-table and Congregational meetings.  First, it came across clearly to not reduce our current level of ministry at Lord of Life and to move forward with calling an Associate Pastor as soon as regular giving is sufficient. In addition, the majority of the meeting participants believe that starting a capital campaign soon to cover replacement costs for some of the roof and HVAC equipment is a good idea.

You will recall from our discussion that the average monthly giving through December in the current budget year has averaged $87,000  (12 months). Adding a second pastor, together with accounting for expected inflation will require average giving to be $100,000 per month (a 14 percent increase).  We are up for this challenge, but it will take everyone’s participation. To that end our Stewardship team will be reaching out to you to see how we can partner together to meet the challenge over these next weeks and months. We should all view this as an opportunity for Spiritual growth.

Likewise, watch for some scoping and planning meetings for a capital campaign later on in the year.  This is an exciting time to be a member of Lord of Life.  We have the opportunity to set our church on a solid course for next 50 years.

Yours in Christ,
Joe Cox
Council President
