Your Legacy Matters!

Make a lasting statement of your faith and values by supporting the mission of Lord of Life Lutheran Church by giving now or naming the Lord of Life Mission Endowment Fund(s) as a beneficiary in your will, tax deferred account or estate plan.

There are three Lord of Life Mission Endowment Funds. You can give to one or more or allocate your contribution between the three.

The Gebert Mission in Outreach Fund

Established in honor of Barbara and Don Gebert.  The purpose of the fund is to provide financial assistance to mission programs outside of Lord of Life and support social outreach activities of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and in the greater Houston area.  This can include USA and Global Missions of the ELCA, but past funding has typically focused on Houston area outreach.
Examples of past and possible future support include:  Angel Reach, Houston Lutheran Campus Ministry, Interfaith Community Clinic, Kids of the Kingdom Preschool Scholarships, Lutherhill Ministries, and global or local mission partners.

The Mission in Ministry Fund

The purpose of this fund is to provide financial assistance to special projects or programs inside and outside Lord of Life in the areas of music, worship, education or for children and youth.
Examples of possible support include: hiring musicians for worship services or special programs; the purchase of paraments or banners; upgrading the organ or sanctuary audio-visual systems; the purchase of Sunday school or vacation Bible School supplies or educational materials; providing financial support for youth and family mission trips; and funding scholarships for youth and family attendance at camps or at LOL or ELCA-supported events.

The Mission in Facilities Support

The purpose of this fund is to provide money for capital improvements and projects, major repairs or debt reduction for Lord of Life facilities to support all missions of the church.
Examples of possible support include: renovation or expansion of the church building or grounds; replacement or upgrade of the roof, HVAC or technology systems; construction or outfitting of a new building for the existing LOL congregation or a new church plant; and paying down the building mortgage.

ELCA Gift Planners

The ELCA Foundation can provide a gift planner at no charge or obligation to assist individuals in determining a legacy plan that best suits his or her unique situation in the most tax-advantaged way.

The Lord of Life Mission Endowment Funds are perpetual in nature and are administered by the Endowment Fund Administration and Distribution Committees. For further information, contact the Church Financial Director at 281-367-7016 or email us.
